UNDERGROUND HANGAR - NIGHT

The Vice President enters. He smiles. CIVILIANS burst through the secure area. He frowns.

EXT. PENTAGON ROOF - DAY

MacPherson runs to Tic’s disc. Shyanne spits up blood.

Shyanne

Go!

Tic chases MacPherson. MacPherson gets into the disc. The ramp lifts. Tic jumps in and wedges his body in the ramp. The disc leaps in the air. The disc flies over the Pentagon and Washington Monument.

EXT. WHITE HOUSE SOUTH LAWN - DAY

Rhonda watches Tic’s disc. She grabs James.

Rhonda

Get the camera ready.

James

We have no uplink!

Rhonda holds up a tape.

Rhonda

These still work, don’t they?

INT. AMBULANCE - DAY

A CROWD surrounds the ambulance.

President

Give me your jacket.

A MEDIC gives his coat to The President.

President

(to Secret Service Agents)

Follow me, but not too closely.

The President hops out the back door.

EXT. CONSTITUTION AVENUE - DAY

The crowd watches Tic’s disc fly overhead. The President pushes through toward Sherman Monument.

Civilians

Watch it, asshole! Who do you think you are?

Ben

Watch where you’re, Mr. President?

The Secret Service Men reach for their guns. The President gives Ben a SECURITY CARD.

President

Take him to the Pentagon. Give him my jacket. We need communications back online. Keep him surrounded, and you, keep your head down.

The secret service men turn to protect Ben.

Ben

I guess it’s time to chew bubblegum and kick ass.

Ben gets in the ambulance with the secret service men.

EXT. SHERMAN MONUMENT - DAY

The CROWD screams and runs away as Tic’s disc lands. The ramp opens. MacPherson walks past Tic and kicks him in the face.

MacPherson steps to the Sherman Monument. He rotates the Logan medallion to the right, the Smith medallion to the left.

Light flashes behind the medallions. A keypad extends from the monument. MacPherson taps the keys. A light turns green.

President

A traitor to the end.

MacPherson

I killed you once. I’ll do it again.

They fight.

EXT. PENTAGON ROOF - DAY

Shyanne rolls on her side. She spits blood. Novak’s disc crashes down behind her. Novak gets out. He picks her up.

Novak

They can save you.

Shyanne

Dad, no. Save him. MacPherson has some kind of bomb. He’s going to blow the hole area!

Novak

I’m not losing you.

Novak carries Shyanne to his disc.

EXT. THE WHITE HOUSE - DAY

CIVILIANS find the tattered flag. They tie it to the flagpole and raise it in the air. They place their hands on their hearts.

EXT. SHERMAN MONUMENT - DAY

The President and MacPherson fight. Tic wakes up.

INT. THE PENTAGON - DAY

BEN walks past SECURITY GUARDS. The Secret Service men surround him. Anderson stops them.

Anderson

Mr. President? I thought you were dead.

Ben keeps his head down.

Ben

That’s what me and the boys like to call a decoy, don’t we boys?

The Secret Service men smile.

Anderson

I’m glad to hear that.

Ben

Me too. Now get out of my way. We’ve got communications to take care of.

Anderson

Follow me.

Anderson leads them down a hallway to a security door.

Anderson

Your card, Mr. President.

Ben searches his jacket pockets.

EXT. SHERMAN MONUMENT - DAY

MacPherson punches The President against the wall. Tic knocks MacPherson to the ground. The President taps the keypad. The green light turns off.

President

It’s done.

MacPherson rolls over. The President kicks him in the stomach.

President

I never did like him.

EIGHT OLD MEN in black suits approach the monument.
